Who is responsible for your information?
A Blonde’s Adventures is operated by Carrie-Ann Milnes, who is responsible for the personal information used to run this website and handle enquiries. Use the email or correspondence address below for privacy questions or requests.
Information we use
Netlify hosts this website. Delivering and protecting its pages involves processing technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, pages requested and request times.
If you email Carrie-Ann or use the trip enquiry form, the information received may include your name, email address, travel preferences, approximate dates, budget, party size and the correspondence itself. Only send information needed for your enquiry. Please leave out passport copies, payment-card details, medical information and children’s full names.
The trip enquiry form collects your name, email address and message, plus any optional travel details you provide. Netlify Forms receives and stores submissions, applies spam filtering and sends notification emails. This website does not accept visitor registrations, bookings, payments or newsletter subscriptions. The private Publishing Studio is for the authorised editor, rather than public visitors.
Why we use information
We use technical information for our legitimate interest in delivering a reliable and secure website. We use general enquiry correspondence for our legitimate interest in answering questions and managing requested follow-up. Where you ask us to take specific steps towards a contract, we use information necessary for those steps. We may also keep relevant information where required by a specific legal obligation or necessary to deal with a legal claim.
You do not have to make an enquiry or provide travel details, but we may be unable to help without enough information to understand your request and respond. An enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing.
Your right to object
You can object to our use of your information where we rely on legitimate interests. Email Carrie-Ann with your request and we will consider it and explain the outcome. You can object to direct marketing at any time.
Appearance settings and external links
Choosing Light or Dark saves an appearance preference in this browser under the local-storage key aba-appearance. It is not an advertising identifier. Choose System to remove the saved preference and follow your device’s appearance; you can also clear website data in your browser.
The website does not add advertising pixels, behavioural analytics or an embedded Instagram feed. Instagram links open Instagram, where its own privacy arrangements apply. An email link opens your chosen email service.
Who may receive information
Relevant providers include Netlify for hosting and enquiry-form processing, Microsoft Outlook for email, and Milnes Studios where access is needed for technical maintenance and support. Access should be limited to what is needed for the task. We may also disclose information to professional advisers or authorities where necessary or legally required.
Carrie-Ann is an independent travel agent with InteleTravel. Any later booking process may involve InteleTravel or travel suppliers. The relevant recipients, purposes and additional privacy information will be explained before information is passed into that process. This website does not collect booking documents.
Where information is processed
Hosting and email providers may process information in countries outside the UK. Where a restricted international transfer is involved, the applicable UK transfer requirements must be met. Contact Carrie-Ann for information about the arrangements relevant to your enquiry.
How long information is kept
Form submissions and enquiry correspondence are kept while needed to answer the enquiry, provide requested follow-up and deal with outstanding matters. Retention is assessed by whether the enquiry remains active and whether complaint, record-keeping or legal-claim requirements apply. Information should be removed when no longer needed.
Technical logs follow the relevant hosting provider’s retention and security arrangements. Appearance preferences remain until you change or remove them. Published stories and images remain available while relevant; contact us with any concern about personal information appearing in them.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection or a portable copy of relevant information. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful use. These rights have conditions and exceptions.
Email Carrie-Ann to make a request. Proportionate identity checks may be needed. We will respond within the applicable legal timescale and explain any limitation. We do not use this website to make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Children and photographs
The website is intended for adults planning family travel. Children do not have visitor accounts. Please avoid sending unnecessary identifying information about children. If you have a concern about an identifiable person in a published story or photograph, contact Carrie-Ann so it can be reviewed.
Complaints and updates
Please contact Carrie-Ann first with a privacy concern. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/.
We will update this notice when our information handling changes, including before new website collection features are introduced.
